Join now!Hello, ambitious Rise of Legends pioneers!
Maybe you've already designed some scenarios or modifications for other games and you've come from a different Heaven. Did the old dying forums scare you away, or was it the Age of Empires III editor that drove you mad? On the other hand, you might be totally new to the whole business, unaware of the huge world that is about to unfold in front of you. If you belong to the first category, you have probably heard of such things as design teams, but if you belong to the latter, then questions have probably entered your head. What are these teams, or who are the people behind them, and what is their goal?Uhu... so who're you?
But let me first introduce myself. My real name is Matt, 18 years old, and I've been most active in the Age of Mythology Heaven forums, where I published some scenarios, where I really feel at home and got to know a lot of awesome people. Next to being a regular forumer here in the Heavengames forums, however, I am at the same time head of a design team, Ambition Designs, and that basically means that I keep an eye on the over all condition of the design team and make changes where needed. Now, what is this design team? What is a design team?
In my opinion, the following is globally the position in the community that design teams should live up to. Design teams are small to medium sized groups of people that like to share the fun of scenario design and modding in a more private surrounding than Heavengames, where they can freely discuss their pre-release projects, ask around for playtesters, get more personal feedback and work on large projects together. In addition to being a member of this design team, most - if not all - members of a design team are also very active here on Heavengames. Which brings us to the fact that design teams in general are not trying be to little copies of Heavengames. No, they are meant to enrich the community. What makes Ambition Designs... well... Ambition Designs?
Now, on to this one specific design team. Ambition Designs was founded in March 2004 as a design team for Age of Mythology to form the bridge between experts and ambitious novices. We underwent a couple of metamorphoses, but the result can be partially found on the current website. I say partially, because one part of Ambition Designs is only partly finished but is already our greatest pride: the university. Ambition Designs will offer courses to anyone ambitious enough. The essential Age of Mythology courses are already free to take, as is one great storywriting course. However, much more work needs to be done on the Rise of Legends courses. Why does Ambition Designs want me?
Getting this university up and running is our main aim, and that is where you come in. Because not all of our members will make the transition to Rise of Legends, we will need fresh blood to explore this realm and work together on the future courses. Normally Ambition Designs is an invite-only team, and it will be again in the future, but because we are unable to tell right now who will or will not be a good Rise of Legends designer, anyone from Rise of Legends heaven can join. So take this chance and join to be one of the Rise of Legends pioneers in Ambition Designs! All you have to do is send an email to our Minister of Development Jonathan (Jonathanofad@gmail.com) telling very briefly why you'd like to join. And why would I want Ambition Designs?
In short, you will join Ambition Designs now to form it's Rise of Legends core, to improve your and others’ skills, to help give shape to our university, to work on awesome group projects, and to be a member and possibly a future staff member in a very friendly and ambitious community! We hope that you will improve our best and we guarantee that we will improve yours!I hope to see your faces on the Ambition Designs forums soon! For questions, just contact Jonathan or me,
