The prototype factory's actual prototypes are mortal, and after building one, you will never get any more at any point of the game. So I usually felt it a bit of a rip off and just researched upgrades. Eventually, I decided I would try to make it a bit more useful. After one prototype is researched, you can build more. The mod, after a lot of tweaking, has come into reality.
Build a new structure called the Development Machine, and, after researching and building one of its units at the Prototype Factory, be able to build more at the Development Machine. There are 7 different units to choose from:
SPY SCOUT - A version of the typical scout with the ability to temporarily become invisible to enemy eyes.
CLOCKWORK SNIPER - A version of the Clockwork Man with the ability to instantly dealy 75 damage to a unit at a range.
BURROWING SPIDER - A version of the Clockwork Spider with the ability to drill through the ground to a place in your line of
GUN FLYER - A Vinci helicopter with medium attacks against both ground and air. (cannot research this and clockwork foreman -
must be one or the other.)
CLOCKWORK FOREMAN - A miner more efficient than other miners (both clockwork and normal) who makes the other miners at the
same mine more efficient. (cannot research this and gun flyer - must be one or the other)
SIEGE ZEPPELIN - A massive blimp/dirigible/zeppelin that deals great damage to enemy buildings.
AIR DESTROYER TRANSPORT - An air destroyer with the ability to transport other units.
